Alagad ng Alamat (Mega September 2017)

In celebration of PMAP’s 30th year anniversary, PMAP collaborated with the top three fashion magazines to interpret PMAP’s mission-vision, which is “to uplift, protect and professionalize the modeling industry in the Philippines.” *The article is directly lifted from Mega Magazine with full credits found below.

When the Professional Models Association of the Philippines came into establishment in 1987, along with it came a paradigm shift. The first of its kind in the continent, PMAP steps outside the bounds of an agency. Identifying as both a modeling firm and a union of sorts, PMAP seamlessly criss-crosses the divide, protecting the profuse potential and talent that the Philippines plays home to.

In time for PMAP’s 30th year, we take a page from local lore and breathe life into Filipino mythology’s protectors and guardians with the wares of the fashion industry’s bright up-and-comers.

DIYAN MASALANTA With a name that warns of looming destruction, the protector of lovers and goddess of peace tells of love’s double-edged sword
IDIANALE The steadfast goddess of labor and good deeds, she is said to have bonded souls with the god of good harvest
ANLABBAN The shapeshifting protector of hunters, the chief spirit of Isneg lore guards the ladder dividing the skyworld from the land of mortals
LAKAPATI The goddess of fertility, Lakapati was worshipped as a provider of food and a beacon of prosperity
MAYARI, ADLAW AT TALA The children of Bathala, the goddess of the moon, god of the sun and goddess of the stars govern the skies day and night
ANITUN TABUA sky-dweller of Visayan legend, she is the fickle-minded wielder of wind and rain
MARIA MAKILING Protector of forests and mountains, the temperamental guardian spirit is believed to fall in love with the men who disappear into the lush woodlands of Mt. Makiling
DIYAN MASALANTA The youngest of all deities, she is said to have taken on the form of Maria Makiling in post-colonial mythology
